All our products are 100% natural fibre - cotton, combed cotton, linen - and as such they are subject to a certain degree of shrinkage. We take shrinkage into account when making up our products and if you follow our care instructions below carefully, you will find that shrinkage is minimal

All our products are machine washable.

We recommend that you soak new linens overnight before washing - this will serve both to dissolve any residual dyes and chemicals used for finishing and to allow the fibres to settle thereby minimising shrinkage.

Always wash new linen before using it - the wash symbols to be found on the packaging and on the sew-in label will indicate cycles and temperatures to be used.

Use gentle detergents and avoid any washing powders with whitening agents so as to protect the colours of your linen.

NOTE: Do not wash immediately at the highest temperature indicated on the label. Start at a low temperature and work up to the maximum temperature (60° or 90°) gradually in order to avoid excessive shrinkage.

Do not mix lights and darks in the same wash to avoid colour bleed and, above all, do not overload your machine since you will not get the best results from your detergent and your linen will crease excessively. As soon as the machine cycle has finished, remove linen. Shake it and pull it out minimising further creasing.

Hanging linens out on the line is the best method for drying, however, our linens can be tumble-dried at a moderate heat. Again, you should not overload your machine to avoid creasing which is particularly difficult to eliminate. Linen should be removed from the tumble-dryer whilst still slightly damp and pulled out before folding carefully.

By following the above instructions carefully, ironing should be hassle free. A good steam iron helps, particularly if the linen is still sllightly damp. Iron items inside out at the temperature indicated by the universal symbols on the packaging or the sew-in label. For fresh and sweet smelling linens, dampen with perfumed water before ironing.

Any non-white linen does not like to be in direct sunlight or any other strong light - discoloration may result. So, store your linen, folded and flat, in a cool, dark and dry space.
